Do you know what Curtimenta wines are?

Aging wines are those that undergo a maceration process, where the must (grape juice) ferments in contact with the skins, seeds and stems of the grapes. This method is most common in the production of red wines, but can also be used in some whites.

Characteristics of Skin-Making Wines:

  • Color: Maceration allows more color to be extracted from the skins, resulting in more intense wines.
  • Tannins: Contact with the skins and seeds adds tannins, which can give structure and complexity to the wine.
  • Aromas and Flavors: This process can intensify aromas and flavors, bringing out richer and more complex notes.

These wines are often appreciated for their depth and character.
